Brady Endorses Reps. Cindy Axne (IA-03), Angie Craig (MN-02), Josh Harder (CA-10) and Susie Lee (NV-03) for Re-Election

Washington, D.C., January 10, 2019 - Today, Brady endorsed four sitting members of Congress in their bids for re-election this year. Each member is a proven champion of common-sense gun safety policies supported by a bipartisan majority of Americans.

Brady President Kris Brown stated:

“These leaders have all proven themselves effective champions for their constituents and for the issues that matter most to voters, including gun violence prevention. Each of these representatives voted for common-sense gun violence prevention solutions, such as H.R.8 and H.R.1112, which would strengthen and expand background checks. They understand that voters want to see action to help solve the gun violence crisis in the United States. It’s not even two weeks into 2020 and already we’ve seen multiple mass shootings. We need action. These leaders have all shown that they will take that action.”

Brady endorsed:

Representative Cindy Axne (IA-03)

Representative Angie Craig (MN-02)

Representative Josh Harder (CA-10)

Representative Susie Lee (NV-03)

Each of these members is on the record supporting commonsense gun safety policies supported by broad bipartisan majorities of Americans, a promise they made to their constituents before being elected to the U.S. House of Representatives in 2018.

H.R. 8, the Bipartisan Background Checks Act of 2019 and H.R. 1112, the Enhanced Background Checks Act of 2019 were passed by the 116th Congress in February 2019 and have sat on Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnel’s desk for over 300 days without a vote.

Candidates endorsed today have a proven track record of supporting common-sense gun safety legislation. Given the urgent need for federal action to reform our nation’s gun laws and to reduce gun violence, Brady will continue to issue endorsements for the U.S. House of Representatives, U.S. Senate and state and local offices ahead of the 2020 elections.
