Dr. Arkaprava Deb, is a psychiatrist in New York City and a member of Doctors for America's National Steering Committee on gun violence. His clinical specialties are young adults with severe mental illness and emergency psychiatry. Deb also teaches at SUNY Downstate College of Medicine and NYU School of Medicine and further specializes in preventive medicine.
Dr. Mike Anestis is the incoming Executive Director of the New Jersey Center on Gun Violence Research and an incoming Associate Professor of Urban and Global Public Health at Rutgers University. His research focuses on suicide prevention, with a particular focus on the role of firearms. He is the author of "Guns and Suicide: An American Epidemic."
Dr. Emmy Betz is a board-certified emergency physician and injury prevention researcher. She is an Associate Professor of Emergency Medicine at the University of Colorado School of Medicine, where she is also Director of the Firearm Injury Prevention Initiative. Her research expertise is in provider-patient communication about difficult topics in injury prevention. Betz co-founded and leads the Colorado Firearm Safety Coalition.
