Shikha Hamilton
Vice President, Organizing

Shikha Hamilton is the Vice President of Organizing at Brady where she works to develop strategies and oversee the implementation of grassroots advocacy and mobilization, including state and federal legislative efforts and public health and safety campaigns. She has been working on the issue of gun violence prevention since 2000, when she helped organize the Million Mom March, the largest protest against gun violence in U.S. history at the time. She has held various roles with Brady, including chapter leader, state chapter president, and member of the Board of Trustees.

Shikha is also a licensed attorney in California and Michigan. She has employed her skills as an organizer and attorney to support efforts to prevent gun violence and to help others advocate for sensible gun laws on the local, state, and national levels. She is most proud of her work in California, where she lives and continues to work with local chapters to pass laws that have been instrumental in reducing California gun deaths by 51%.

In addition to being a gun violence prevention advocate, Shikha is a leader in her community, sitting on several local nonprofit boards. She has also worked on presidential, state, and local elections in paid staff and volunteer roles, including on Kamala Harris’ and Joe Biden’s National Finance Committees.
