Urge the U.S. Senate: Don’t Deregulate Deadly Gun Silencers

The U.S. House just passed President Trump’s tax bill, but not before sneaking in a provision that deregulates gun silencers under the National Firearms Act of 1934. 

This would allow anyone, including prohibited purchasers, to buy or 3D-print a gun silencer WITHOUT registration, or if purchased through a private sale, even a Brady Background Check — making these deadly devices easier to access and putting more money into the pockets of gun industry executives. 

This move would increase the spread of gun silencers, make mass shootings more deadly, make law enforcement’s job more difficult, and cost the government upwards of $3 billion over the next 10 years. This is a handout to gun industry CEOs, while everyday Americans will die.
