CHIEF DEVELOPMENT OFFICER
Laura Sildon is a creative leader and strategic fundraiser who builds organizational capacity through partnerships, philanthropy, and compelling communication. A natural relationship builder, she connects people and ideas to drive meaningful impact.
Prior to joining Brady as its chief development officer, she served as the vice president of Philanthropy at the Trust for the National Mall, where she led a team of operations, events, and development professionals. Her work centered on securing principal gifts and team leadership to support the Our Monumental Moment campaign commemorating the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence.
Previously, as the executive director of Civica Foundation, Laura built a donor base from the ground up and raised more than $100 million to support access to affordable medications nationwide. Her success required translating complex topics — including diabetes care, insurance, and pharmaceutical manufacturing — into compelling, mission-driven opportunities with urgency and clarity.
Earlier in her career, Laura founded The Jellie Group, a consulting firm providing operational, fundraising, and communications support to nonprofit and for-profit clients.
Laura is a graduate of Leadership Maryland and Leadership Greater Washington. She holds a B.A. from the University of Michigan and an M.S.W. from the University of Maryland. Laura has been a board member of Leadership Montgomery, Black Rock Arts Center, Arts on the Block, and a volunteer with the Neighbors Helping Neighbors program to assist seniors in her community. She is a proud mother of two (nearly adult) children and three Labrador retrievers.
OUR TEAM
We’re Led by Gun Violence Survivors
We are unique in the movement in that we are survivor-founded and survivor-led. Our leaders and team members who are gun violence survivors deeply understand the solutions that will save lives. We fight because we want to do everything in our power to make sure that no other family suffers the pain and loss of losing a loved one to gun violence.
Each time you choose to engage with Brady, you’re furthering our life-saving mission.
