Brenda D. Joiner
BRADY VICE PRESIDENT OF HUMAN RESOURCES & OPERATIONS
Brenda is a native of Cleveland, OH. She has deep connections to the community, working with churches and police departments to advocate for safer communities. With over 20 years in human resources, she spent time at a rehabilitation facility that often served gunshot victims.
As the vice president of Human Resources and Operations at Brady, Brenda is responsible for providing strategic guidance and leadership for all aspects of the human resources function and establishing a vision and direction for core programs, policies, and services.
Brenda is also a gun violence survivor. In 2017, her dad was shot and killed on Easter Sunday while taking a leisurely walk before dinner. While getting ready to sit down and enjoy the holiday with her dad and family, Brenda received a call that her dad had been shot. Several calls came in to let her know that not only was her dad murdered, but the killer had posted the fatal shooting on social media.
Today, Brenda lives in Alexandria, VA, with her daughter and their dog Buddy.
OUR TEAM
We’re Led by Gun Violence Survivors
We are unique in the movement in that we are survivor-founded and survivor-led. Our leaders and team members who are gun violence survivors deeply understand the solutions that will save lives. We fight because we want to do everything in our power to make sure that no other family suffers the pain and loss of losing a loved one to gun violence.
Each time you choose to engage with Brady, you’re furthering our lifesaving mission.
