Priority State Actions: Ohio

Ohio is one of the 30 states that offers no-excuse absentee voting. The Buckeye State also provides online voter registration; however, Ohio does not allow same-day voter registration and requires voters to register up to 30 days in advance. Ohio also does not provide pre-paid postage for absentee voters. Pre-paid postage is an important way to ensure all voters can exercise their right to vote-by-mail without a financial or time burden.
