Priority State Actions: Georgia

While Georgia may have been the first state in the union to lower the voting age to 18 and give women the right to vote, their election laws have not been sweeter than a Georgia peach in a long time. Currently there are two Senate seats up for grabs in the state, making securing democracy in Georgia crucial to determining the makeup of the Senate. As seen with issues for voter access in the state primary in June, voters in Georgia faced limited polling locations, a lack of poll workers, shortages of emergency ballots, and overall confusion. It is important we engage state and local elected officials before November to deal with these issues and more to ensure that all eligible voters can cost a ballot in the general election.
