Washington D.C., February 14, 2018 — The Brady Campaign and Center to Prevent Gun Violence is horrified by the breaking news about a shooting at a Florida high school. There has been an unconscionably high number of shootings so far in 2018, and we're only at Valentine's Day. How many more will America endure before school is out for the summer?

In the vast majority of school shootings, shooters get their guns from their parents or close relatives. As this story develops, we call upon law enforcement to find out how the shooter got his gun.

Brady has one powerful mission — to unite all Americans against gun violence. We work across Congress, the courts, and our communities with over 90 grassroots chapters, bringing together young and old, red and blue, and every shade of color to find common ground in common sense. In the spirit of our namesakes Jim and Sarah Brady, we have fought for over 45 years to take action, not sides, and we will not stop until this epidemic ends. It’s in our hands.
