Support President Biden’s Federal Office of Gun Violence Prevention!

Brady has long fought for an Office of Gun Violence Prevention — and now we need to show an outpouring of support for its creation.

Brady Statement on Covenant School Mass Shooting

Washington, D.C., March 27, 2023 – At least three children and three adults are dead following a mass shooting at the Covenant School, an elementary school in Nashville, according to media reports. The mass shooting is the 129th recorded so far in 2023.

Kris Brown, president of Brady, said:

“We do not have to live like this, nor should we ever accept this as our reality. Our children deserve a life free from worry of being gunned down while learning their ABC’s.

“What does it say about our country when preschoolers and young children are regularly victims of mass shootings? And what does it say about our political system when our lawmakers know these tragedies are happening every day but refuse to act due to the power and financial influence of the gun industry?

“Our deepest sympathies are with the children and families impacted by yet another senseless attack on the most innocent members of our society.”

Brady has one powerful mission — to unite all Americans against gun violence. We work across Congress, the courts, and our communities with over 90 grassroots chapters, bringing together young and old, red and blue, and every shade of color to find common ground in common sense. In the spirit of our namesakes Jim and Sarah Brady, we have fought for over 45 years to take action, not sides, and we will not stop until this epidemic ends. It’s in our hands.
