Washington, D.C., May 15, 2023 – At least three civilians were killed and two police officers injured by a gunman in Farmington, NM. Brady, the country’s oldest gun violence prevention organization, released the following statement:

Kris Brown, president of Brady, said:

“It is heartbreaking to learn that yet another community has been devastated by a mass shooting.
“Among the injured were members of the law enforcement community. Right now in America, it does not matter if you wear a badge or carry a service weapon, no one is immune to the scourge of gun violence. Americans everywhere must band together and demand sensible solutions to end this preventable epidemic.
“Our hearts are full of sympathy for victims and families of yet another senseless, preventable mass shooting, and we hope for the swift recovery of those wounded in this attack.”

Brady has one powerful mission — to unite all Americans against gun violence. We work across Congress, the courts, and our communities with over 90 grassroots chapters, bringing together young and old, red and blue, and every shade of color to find common ground in common sense. In the spirit of our namesakes Jim and Sarah Brady, we have fought for over 45 years to take action, not sides, and we will not stop until this epidemic ends. It’s in our hands.
