Brady Celebrates Colt Decision as a Step Forward in Removing Assault Weapons from Civilian Hands

Washington, D.C., September 19. 2019— Colt has recently announced that they will stop selling AR-15 style rifles to the civilian market. Brady responded calling it a small step toward keeping weapons of war out of places of peace.

Brady President Kris Brown stated,

“Brady has been fighting to keep these weapons of war off our streets since we helped pass the original assault weapons ban in 1994. Since the ban expired in 2004, every one of these small victories should be seen as a step toward saving lives. Walmart, Dick’s, Kroeger, and now a leading manufacturer of assault weapons—we need to keep this momentum going and demand Congress immediately ban assault weapons and high capacity magazines. America can’t wait another day!”
