Washington, D.C., November 6, 2018 - This evening, Naval Aviator Mikie Sherrill was elected to serve New Jersey’s 11th Congressional District. The Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence congratulated Sherrill on her impressive victory.

Kyleanne Hunter, USMC (ret.), VP of Programs at the Brady Campaign, stated:

“Campaigning alongside Mikie Sherrill, I had a chance to see firsthand what a remarkable candidate and woman she is. Now, we will all have an opportunity to see her leadership and tenacity in the House of Representatives. She has truly lived the values of Honor, Courage, and Commitment. From expanded background checks to a federal assault weapon ban, Mikie knows firsthand how important these issues are to protecting all Americans. I am delighted to have the chance to work with her, and we congratulate her on this tremendous victory.”

Brady has one powerful mission — to unite all Americans against gun violence. We work across Congress, the courts, and our communities with over 90 grassroots chapters, bringing together young and old, red and blue, and every shade of color to find common ground in common sense. In the spirit of our namesakes Jim and Sarah Brady, we have fought for over 45 years to take action, not sides, and we will not stop until this epidemic ends. It’s in our hands.
