Should you let your kids play with realistic toy guns or use one as a part of their Halloween costume? Why have toy guns gotten more and more realistic? Why is the NRA pushing toy guns? And are toy guns really more regulated than real guns?

We also discuss how systemic racism means that guns — even toy ones — "look different" when they're held by Black men or boys. That includes 12-year-old Tamir Rice, who in 2014 was tragically shot and killed by a Cleveland police officer who mistook his toy gun for a real one, and 32-year-old Philando Castille, who 2016 was fatally shot by police during a traffic stop.
