Three Brady employees and activists pose happily outside of the house the last time the background bill passed in 2020

On March 11th, the US House of Representatives passed H.R. 8 and H.R. 1446, two bills designed to expand and strengthen Brady Background Checks. H.R. 8 specifically addresses the selling and transferring of firearms and private sales, whereas H.R. 1446 provides the background check system with additional time to make a final determination on a potential firearms purchaser before a licensed dealer can transfer a gun, addressing the often-called “Charleston loophole.” To discuss how these bills came to be, and where they'll go from here, hosts Kelly and JJ are joined by: Brady President, Kris Brown; survivor and activist, Colin Goddard; Vice President of Policy at Brady, Christian Heyne; and Team Enough Executive Council member and national chapter coordinator, Stephan Abrams.
