Right now, Ohio's concealed carry permit law requires gun safety training and background checks. While this system isn’t perfect, it creates steps to ensure those who carry guns in public do so safely.
But SB 215, which is on Gov. DeWine's desk for his signature, would completely eliminate these common-sense protocols, allowing anyone to carry concealed firearms in public spaces WITHOUT a permit, any safety training, or a background check.
