Hustle Mommies and Paint the Hood Orange

The Hustle Mommies organization and movement focuses on five focus areas which are emotional wellness, effective parenting, urban education, inner-city gun violence, and career and entrepreneurial development. Our goal is to help our moms become whole moms impacting their communities, families, businesses, and careers. The Paint the Hood Initiative is a campaign under the Hustle Mommies' upcoming “Cure Hood Trauma” program, where the Hustle Mommies team is dedicated to raising awareness, educating, and helping to eliminate gun violence caused by hood trauma. The Hustle Mommies hosts pop-up block parties, trainings, and healing circles focused on bringing resources and essentials to the communities impacted by gun violence.

The Institute for Nonviolence Chicago

The Institute for Nonviolence Chicago’s mission is to end the cycle of gun violence. We are at the forefront of co-creating innovative approaches to reduce violence and promote healing within our communities. Following the principles of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., our efforts concentrate on street outreach; trauma-informed and healing-centered care for individuals affected by gun violence; and strengthening our organizational partners with the knowledge and tools to support safer, thriving communities.

One Aim Illinois

One Aim Illinois is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that works to end gun violence in Illinois by educating, advocating, and organizing to translate public opinion into effective public policy. Integral to our work, One Aim leads the state’s largest grassroots coalition working to protect Illinois families from firearm violence. We also work alongside our independent partner organizations, Gun Violence Prevention PAC (G-PAC) and Gun Violence Prevention Action Committee (GVPAction) to achieve our shared goals.
