Washington, D.C., October 22, 2018 – Yesterday in Jacksonville, FL, six people were wounded in a street shooting, three critically. The Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence released the following statement, noting the state’s repeated high-profile gun issues and the opportunity voters have to change that legacy.

Now, six people have been shot in an event so seemingly routine that it barely registered in the nation’s consciousness. In 15 days, though, Florida has a chance to change all that by electing gun safety champions who will defend and promote common sense measures to keep their state safe from reckless gun violence. So go vote, Florida - there’s too much at stake not to.”
